A horrible story and a wonderful life...

A horrible story. Read on...
"It's a Wonderful Life" is a super film whose impeccable timing (post World War II-1946) and outstanding story-line gave hope and joy to the whole country. Oscar-nominee James Stewart stars as a banker who has a nervous breakdown and comes to the realization that he wishes he was never born. Enter guardian angel Clarence (Henry Travers) who shows Stewart how great his life has been and how his life has affected everyone else's for the better. Frank Capra's direction is, well Capra-esque. The screenplay is perfect and all the performances are super as well. Donna Reed, Thomas Mitchell, and Lionel Barrymore all add great moments as supporting players. Easily one of the best ever, a treasure. This is "It's a Wonderful Life" re-enacted by bunnies

Don't take your loved ones for granted

Generally e-mail forwards annoy the bejeebees out of me. But this interesting forward has been doing the rounds for a very long time now, I just thought you would like to see it. Chances are you've probably been sent this one already. It's lovely.Read on...

Attitude

This is the most inspirational forward I have ever received. I have treasured it ever since, and would love to share the same with you.
Attitude
I woke up early today, excited about all that I'll do before the clock
strikes midnight.
I have important responsibilities to fulfill today.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy,
but I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel that I don't have more money,
Or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan and guide me
away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health,
Or I can rejoice that I can be alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents did not give me when I was
growing up,
Or I can be grateful that allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry, because roses have thorns,
Or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends,
Or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to school,
Or eagerly open my mind and fill it with new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have do housework,
Or I can be honoured, because God has provided shelter for my mind,
body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped,
And here I am the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
What today will be like is up to me.
I get to chose what kind of day I will have.

Have a great day…unless you have other plans.

Something Fishy!!!

Something Fishy!!! Posted by Hello

A friend of mine, Gautam, was recently given the responsibility of taking up his brother's studies. After a few weeks of hard work and patience, he decided to put his brother to test. Apparently, his brother had not reciprocated with equal enthusiasm. Here’s what he got!! As evident, the results are side splitting.

Accentua

I had taken my students for this field trip to a nature park the other day, where a guide informed them that they would be seeing lots of 'snacks' there. Having left home on an empty stomach at an unearthly hour my mouth watered on hearing this statement. Suddenly realization dawned on me. The 'snacks' as she put it were not mouth-watering edibles, but those sleek, beautiful slithering creatures called snakes.

My memories took me a decade back, and I recalled a incident that my favourite Prof had shared with us during a lecture. He sounded very elated after having met a parent, who had just broken a piece of good news to him. “Maaro dikro States ma gayo," She had said. My professor was flummoxed as to how that good for nothing lad, who always bunked his lectures, had managed to go to the United States of America. It was only when he bumped into the Math Professor, he was able to appreciate that the nincompoop had actually failed in his Statistics exam!!!

Well such encounters with accents give rise to hilarious situations. Mercifully, I don’t have any discernible accent though I am South Indian or I would have been the butt of many jokes myself.
There are lots of accents galore! Mallu and Gujju accents however, take the cake!

I do not wish to offend anyone, and I apologize in advance for hurting any sentiments.

Out of Commission!!!

I broke my leg badly last morning ( I'll spare you the gory details, as I'm not going to use this blog as a platform for telling you about my bad hair days or reminisce about the times I got out on the wrong side of my bed.)
As I lay on my bed, the pain excruciating enough to make me desert my logical self, I had visions of myself walking with the aid of crutches all my life, being dependent on family et al for all things trivial, till the doctor came along with her needle." It's just a bad sprain" she pronounced and prescribed some "Complete rest" along with a plethora of yecch pills and put my doubts to rest. The momentary lapse of reason though, was enough to make me realize how we take our blessings for granted . We constantly crib about so many don't-haves that we forget to enjoy what we actually do have. An online search revealed that scientists have estimated that broken down into many parts, a human body is estimated to value over 45 million dollars!! Surprised? Read on..
Do take a look at this BBC site that unravels the mystery of the human body.
And there's actually a website that tells you how much your body is worth!

This site helps you look at your body parts in details. Learn more...

Well, what do I say now? Count your blessings, and do take care...

Google Suggest!!!!

Google has now come up with Google Suggest. As you type into the search box, Google Suggest guesses what you're typing and offers suggestions in real time. This is similar to Google's "Did you mean?" feature that offers alternative spellings for your query after you search, except that it works in real time.
It works real fast...

The Sound Files

I was running a search on weird sites, and guess what i found! You really don't wanna know what people are upto these days. ( But I'm gonna tell you anyway, hahaha!!!) I mean what kind of people break wind (to put it very genteelly) and upload sound files on the net? Bizarrrrrrrrrrre!!!!
I would rather listen to BBC Radio 7 or BBC School Radio . Which is your favourite Radio Programme?
