Fanaa
Movie: Fanaa
My hubby lured me away from the whodunit that I was glued onto, to catch Fanaa on Friday. Being the big Kajol fan that I am, I didn’t wanna miss watching her comeback flick and I gave in after half-hearted protests. To my surprise, we managed to get tickets for the show. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the biggest disappointment after my 10th Standard Board Results. The movie moved way too slow in the first half, and it really dragged in parts. But for the kid sitting next to me (no, I’m not talking about my hubby) who pestered her father with her incessant questions (and he really deserves a place on the cover page of Parenting magazine ), I would have drifted off to sleep...Sigh!
The only saving grace? The Shayaris! (though I still don't know what Fanaa means:D)
I only hope the Da Vinci Code doesn't disappoint me as well.

Hey,
According to the subtitles shown in the cinema halls in Sydney, Fanaa means destruction, ravage and even armageddon (all 3 used to describe the word at diff times!)
I guess you might have figured out how I felt about the movie from the fact that I was analyzing the subtitles!
Have put up a review on my blog too
'destroy in love' I think tag line tells the meaning of Fanna. So I think we need to stay away from this movie....but still I will go b'cause my fav. actor/actress on this movie.
I thought it was rubbish!
I liked Da Vinci Code, a bit too literary but still i liked. better than fanaa.

ah!! da vinci code is worse, especially if you've already read the stupid book.
thanks to this post, now i can avoid fanaa:)
generally i think the books are better than the movie vers so will avoid da vinci movie, though i adored the book:)
"Unfortunately, it turned out to be the biggest disappointment after my 10th Standard Board Results" - LOL, loved that line. Adding you to my blogroll on this trashy movie. Thanks.
Really? Yes, the story was predictable and it had it's silly moments, but overall I thought the performances were not mediocre and were quite excellent. I haven't read "The Eye of the Needle" so I can't comment on that, and I'm sure it must have been disappointing to forsee the ending. I too knew how it would go by the intermission, but I still enjoyed the movie. The music was great too.
Da Vinci Code on the other hand....I am boycotting the movie, because the book was so bad. And after all I've heard, I'd tell ya to save your money and wait for it on dvd.
Cheers!

Fanaa -- Destroyed my 3 hours and money too.
Da Vinci Code -- I liked the movie, it has done whatever justice one can to a book with the help of a movie.
Hey!
Just watched Fanaa last night and checked your blog for a new post today! What luck. I found the movie okay. Predictabe, yes, but still tolerable. As you mentioned, the shayaris were good, and that baby Rehan was soooooooooooooo cute :)
As for The Da Vinci Code, the movie again is okay. Wouldn't make much of a difference since you already know the end. I mean, did not make for a very good watch as such.
I hated it lol...well not hated it exactly..but didn't like it at all!! Aamir needs a break lol..both Mangal Pandey and Fanaa were hardly special!!
The movie wasn't all that bad!
By Bollywood standards, it was superlative!
biggest disappointment after board 10 results...lol
coz of all the reviews like this, i've not seen the movie yet, and now that i already know every damn twist and turn in the movie - no point watching it now...
anyways, how have u been? long time.. hope u r doing well :)
I slept off while watching Da vinci. COuld be because I had dinner and watched it at home but I kind of liked Fanaa just for teh simple reason taht I did not expect anything.
exaaaactly the eye of the needle similarity was a bit too mcuh to take! what with the radio-ing part n all! most irritating was when he lands up at kajol's place during the blizzard! of allll places?!
Hi,
How are you?
Aizwaikcha.
Hey, so I haven't been on for well over a year, but you thought I was on a blogging strike while I was on and you posted a comment one of my poems. But I figured since you were the only other real person that commented I figured you might be happy to know I've returned to my blog.
Paul
