Stranded !!!

There's one thing I love more than anything else in this world, and outside it, and that is Reading! What can be more gratifying, than curling up with John Grisham (I meant his books, of course! What were you thinking?) in your arms, and a bowl of popcorn to munch on? Now, I've been trying to lay my hands on some more books to add on to my modest collection, in my library, and the ones that are gathering dust in the cupboards of my friends. (So, if you are reading this Shhhh, RETURN my books soooon!)..I can't live without them.

The Strand Book Festival is on in Mumbai (from 28 Jan to 13 Feb) and I'm dying to be there, and blow all my hard-earned money (that's a blatant lie- I love my job so much, I wonder why I get paid for it;) on books.

But I won't be able to make it this week. (Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!) So excuse me while I go and re-read the ones that I already have..

* Of late, I have taken to collecting E-books, so those of you who have any (especially thrillers and whodunnits. And puhleeez spare me the mush!Aaaargh! I stay away from Mills and Boons and their distant cousins), please, please, please mail them to me at sangeeta.kkini@gmail.com.

And oh! I love reading Inspirational mails (males, please excuse :D), PowerPoint presentations etc. I currently need them for a PTA project (Yes, I'm a school teacher) that we have undertaken. So whoever is still reading this, please keep me in your mailing list and do send me any motivational material that you have..
P.S. No Junk/Porn please..

Need a Change of Scene?

I stumbled upon this link, where you just have to enter the URL of any site (choose one with lots of pictures ( I chose mine of course) The Illusionizer replaces the images on any page with other images using Google Images results, and the results, needless to say are hilarious!

*Enjoy*

Past Forward...

That's me

What we remember from childhood we remember forever - permanent ghosts, stamped, inked, imprinted, eternally seen.

~Cynthia Ozick

So here are a few more pics from my album, and you don't have to guess who I am..

That's dad and me...

Dad and me

I always had a bone to pick with him when he was alive, and now he's no more. It's too late to tell him how much I really loved him..

The inevitable march of the hands!

Yoo-hoo! I'm going to live for another 45 years! Says the deathclock!
So many things to do... places to go..so little time.
How long are you going to walk this earth?

This brings to my mind one of my favourite poems, 'Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening', written by Robert Frost.

STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING

Whose woods these are I think I know

His house is in the village though
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep...
