Vision 2020

Welcome to 2020,
Welcome to the age of plenty

An age of world peace,
No politicians with palms of grease.

No goons brandishing blood thirsty blades,
And yes, we’ll have found a cure for AIDS!
No garbage, no more slums,
No waifs scrounging around for stale breadcrumbs.

You wont find even the faintest trace of crime,
No killings, for reason or rhyme.

In virtual classrooms the teachers will teach,
Education will be within every child’s reach.

Everything around us will be clean and green,
A pollution free city... Is no longer a distant dream.

Formula 1 tracks in every metro, For the Narains of tomorrow,
No international funds will we ever need to borrow.

Once again India will be a land of milk and honey,
Teen writers give JK Rowling a run for her money.

A safer place for children this world will be
Look! Snaps of teachers splashed on Page 3!

Girls and women, well have no fear,
There will be no Sunil More’s lurking around here.

For 2020, this is my vision
Come on, let’s get working …
WE ARE ON A MISSION!

Making a Difference!

Last month an essay contest titled ‘An Idea That Made a Difference to My Classroom’ was conducted by Scholastic India. I sent one of my tried and tested ideas across (Remember Casper?) and my entry was chosen as one of the top 100 from over 1500 entries that were received across India. As a token of appreciation I was awarded with a certificate of honour, a set of books and a jewellery box as well. The news made my Teachers’ Day even more special. Thank you all for your wishes..

The big and small of it

Last evening I was waiting for the elevator , I was surprised to see this little girl alone inside it.
I asked her," Where's Mummy?" After a moment of thought, she replied, " Small mummy..in the kitchen, and capital mummy ... to the market."

What did she mean? Now you figure that out! :P
