If you haven't guessed it yet, that's my latest acquisition- a mosquito swatter. It's very handy when you want to zap those beastly li'l things. I think the Indian government should distribute swatters freely to every Indian & put an end to the mosquito menace.
(and I'll let you guys in on my deep dark secret. I'm actually taking perverse joy in electrocuting mosquitoes. hahahaha!!)

i have a deeper/darker secret with mosquitoes.
ReplyDeleteRememer the tortoise mosquito coils?
here's what i'd do when i was a kid. every evening, before the coils were lit, i'd look for the mosquitoes. Then i'd slap them with my hand, and if you do it right, they get stunned, and fall to the ground. But they don't actually die, and keep sort of twitching their wings. So i'd collect like 4 or five of these.
Then i'd set up the coil, and place each mosquito on the coil, at different distances from the burning end. Then i'd light to coil. And watch. To see which mosquito would regain conciousness and fly away before the fire reached her. If she didn't manage to wake up, the flame would burn her alive. As the flame approached, slowly, you can see that these guys are trying their best to manage to fly away. Its amazing how much a burnt mosquito smells.
I know. I feel bad now.
