Days after the massive tidal waves ravaged the coastline of eight Asian countries, the known death toll has crossed 1,23,000, with untold number of people still missing, as the cataclysm resonated! Each day seems to bring on more distress. The tsunami has left a large number of bodies, washed ashore, most of them yet to be found. Four days after the disaster, hundreds of bodies still lay under the debris of ravaged buildings and some even lay scattered in waterlogged fields. Water-borne diseases like cholera, diarrhea, malaria and typhoid are the worst diseases stalking the survivors. Shortage of medicines and disinfectants is another hurdle.
